CFRZ PERFORMANCE TEAM
The Calgary Freeriderz Performance Team is our high performance program whose purpose is to advance athletes to the Canadian National Team (Slopestyle or Halfpipe) by achieving podium performances at Canada Cup and North America Cup events.
The Performance Team trains year round, starting its training year in early June. Alongside local S&C, trampoline, and airbag sessions in Calgary, summer/fall training camps are offered in:
Montreal, QC (Maximise)
Cardrona, NZ
Mt Sima, YK
Winter training is primarily held at Canada Olympic Park and typically consists of 4 days per week once full facilities are available on a flexible, weather dependent schedule. Early winter (and pow!) days are at Lake Louise, and sessions at Sunshine may be offered as needed based on facility availability and athlete requirements.
Team fees for this level of programming are $4,250 per year. This covers:
All coaching from June through April (May is based on facility availability/costs/training needs)
Competition coaching at all targeted competitions
Winter airbag access at COP
Fees do not include:
Facility access (e.g. lift tickets, air bag fees, trampoline fees), with the exception of winter air bag at COP
Travel to venues
Freeride competition insurance surcharge
FC/FA membership
Competition entry fees
Coach competition travel costs
Provided the club receives adequate fundraising support, a portion or all of the coach competition travel expenses will be paid for from the club’s coffers, and not be invoiced to athletes. However, athletes should be prepared to pay a share of coach competition travel expenses when committing to this program, as fundraising amounts won’t be confirmed until late fall/early winter.

Entry into this program is appropriate for athletes that are ready to compete on the full Canada Cup circuit. Just like joining the Calgary Freeriderz, this program is invite only, with invitations based on skill level determined by the coaching group. These invitations are sent directly to athletes for whom this program is appropriate for.
